A
lovely wakeful smily morning.
Julia
had a feed after lunch yesterday. She
got the same boob again this morning (so
it had been producing milk since the lunch),
and for 2 hours she would do about 2 nibbles
or licks, then pull a face, pull off nd
play a little. Eventually she got hungry
enough or used to the garlic taste enough
to feed. Moral of the story - she doesn't
like garlic. Benefit - I know how to wean
her!!
Dinner
at Bruces, she slept virtually the whole
time. Nicole made a pudding the same size
as Julia. |

Woohooo
6 1/2 hours last night - though we were
stupidly partying for most of it.
We
went for breakfast at Paul & Colleen's
for Geoff's birthday.
Julia
slept all day today. Actually she's slept
all blimmin weekend while everyone is
around to play with her and then she'll
be up ALL week with only me to entertain
her. |

Lots of playing today, a heap of smiling and giggles.
She discovered her thumb much to my dread. Previously it was always tightly tucked into her fist, so I wasn't worried even when she did manage to find her fist to suck.
Her arm movements are becoming more controlled, especially as her one fist keeps finding it's way to her mouth. She's not interested in grabbing anything yet though.
She sat for about 20min - 1/2 hour today in the shade under the washing line in her bouncy chair, while I hung up the washing, just staring at it. It was beautiful and sunny.

TJ
had his injections today. After calling
me a wuss for crying, big strong Timmy
shed some tears.
TJ
then started srying inconsolably a few
hours later and Timbo squirted some panadol
down his throat to calm him down so he
could go to sleep, but he squirted it
down TJ's wind pipe, so it took a fair
few minutes of TJ not even taking a breath,
for Tim to get him coughin and for him
to finally calm down. Tim went and sqirted
the same amount of water down his own
windpipe after TJ went to sleep, and found
he nearly chocked to death himself. Shame
he felt really bad.
TJ weighs 13.5pounds
I weigh 99kg to my disgust an the doctors
so I have some work to do before the next
checkup.
Amanda is losing more and more weight
everyday but always looks gorgeous. |

Still
having a hard time with crying, sleeping
little and having tummy ache. Her crying
has tears quickly which mum reckon's means
she's in pain.
I've
been eating only fruit and veges from
breakfast and will for a while, to try
to determine if her issues are a reaction
to any type of food. |
|
|
|
10 |
The
first day she was really interested in
looking at her mobiles and mirror on her
play mat and in her pram.
Good
so far (nearly 12pm) no tummy ache, just
difficult burps, and I think we've almost
broken the daily record for sleeps for
the past week, and it's only lunch time!!!
Woohoo! |
|
From Tim - The temp was 41degree's in the shade at 4:45pm so we decided to take TJ to the beach, we walked down and I built him a sand castle while he lay down with a shovel in his hand and did absolutely nothing towards the sand castle except smile at it (picctures attached)
anyway we spent a good hour and a half down there, then walked home again.
Tj cried and cried and cried and would not go to sleep, he hadn't slept for 6 hours so we decided to take him for a drive which puts him to sleep, so we drove down a few country roads around here, roads we havn't yet explored and ended up a bit lost anyway finally found our way back, by this time it was an hour later and as we drove back in the drive way guess who woke up.
Yes pointless trip but hey he did stop crying and started smiling.

Weighed 5.970Kgs (about 13.1 pounds) - 100th percentile now
She can look at a rattle and purposely
hit it. |
|
Car
was ok till yesterday when I was suppose
to meet amanda in the shops and when I
arrived TJ did a poo so I attempted a
change on the back seat of the car (not
recomended) he has been constipated so
we put some brown sugar in his milk and
3 days worth of runny poo just popped
out, Of course m knowledge of the whereabouts
of the nappies and baby wipes didn't cross
my mind till I had taken the pooy nappie
off so poo on the seat, anyway found nappybag
and baby wipes, cleaned TJ bumbum and
the seat and then before I had time to
say don't pee or I'll shoot he started
doing a weewee all over the back seat,
By this stage 20minutes had passed by
and other shoppers should have payed for
this sort of entertainment but finally
I had a new nappy, a clean baby who was
now in the pram cause I ran out of carseat,
and the nappy wouldn't stick because I
had weewee on my hand which turned the
sticky into slimy but I didn't realise
it was th weewee on my hand till 3 nappies
later which is when I cleaned my hand
then put new nappy on, as we walking in
to meet mum TJ smiled and when we met
mum she said what took so long? my answer
was a half hur nappy change and a car
that needs a clean. . |

Great Granny Tass' Birthday |
|
12 |
Tired fairly wakeful day - introduced
wheat back into my diet |
|
|
|
13 |
Her first day at school while I was called
in to do work from 9am to 6pm - she was
excellent and even fell asleep on my shoulder
while I was working on the computer. |
|
|
|
14 |
She slept for at least 7 hours last night
(we were at mum and dad's on a nice hard
bed). She only woke at 4am, and then she
rolled onto her left side 3 times (I kept
putting her back on her back, as she wees
straight up her side and hardly into her
nappy when she sleeps on her side.) Then
once she was on her side she rolled on
to her tummy and got annoyed cos she was
stuck and can't get back. She did that
another 2 times. I was so excited, I couldn't
sleep any more that morning. |
|
|
|
15 |
Another
7 hours!!!! Woohooo |
|
|
|
16 |
She
rolled onto her side the opposite side.
She keeps getting onto her side now at
night, while I'm trying to get set up
to feed her (as this is how she feeds).
I wiggle up to the right height, and lift
up my top and undo my bra, and by then
she's often turned onto her side in preparation. |

Mel's baby shower |
|
17 |
She
keeps tensing her stomach muscles to bring
her chin down towards her stomach, a few
days ago I was cradling her in my arms,
on my lap, and she tensed enough to sit
up. Today I tried placing her propped
up on pillows on the couch and sitting
on my tummy leaning back on my legs while
I was lying down with my legs bent. Each
time she would just be straining to sit
up. On the couch I pulled her forward
a little and she just sat their on her
own, totally hunched over. I pushed her
back after about 2 seconds, as surely
it's bad for her back. Surely her back
is not strong enough to hold itself. So
at the moment she won't sit in any semi
reclined position. |

Grandpa PG's knee reconstruction |
|
18 |
She fell asleep on her play mat, unfortunately just as I had to pick her up to take her to the mother's group.
Visited Grandpa PG in hospital |
|
|
|
19 |
Brought Grandpa PG home, shame, he had to sit halfway up the passenger seat which was put right down, to be able to fit his leg in which can't bend - it's very sore. |
|
Grandpa PG convinced Tim to just cut his losses and move to Perth in a few weeks time rather than flying back for Christmas, then flying back to Tweed Heads to keep trying to finish off jobs in the pipeline. |
|
20 |
Visited Grandoa PG to give him lunch and water and stuff.
She's been back to 3.5-4-5 hours sleeping this week. |
|
Convinced Tim to move here TOMORROW, when it was 1.30pm there already, so he went and got new brake pads, fixed a burst water pump, changed the oil and filters, got a roof rack, tarp and rope for their junk, while Amanda cancelled the post box and rental house. Tim serviced the car all night, while Amanda packed up the house. |
|
21 |
Visited Grandpa PG to make lunch again. Julia's been excellent both days. It was raining heavily today. Teresa played with Julia for about 10-15 minutes before proclaiming how tiring it was. |
|
They didn't sleep a wink, at 5.30am bought a trailor as they had too much junk, and finally after rearranging stuff, left for Sydney at 2.30pm in lightening storms not having had ANY SLEEP.
TJ has thrush on his mouth, so they got some muti. |
|
22 |
Rolled
front to back 3 or 4 (can’t remember exactly)
times this morning while I was trying
to massage her back, so now every time
I put her on her tummy (apart from when
we’re rolling around the house on the
stool whereby she lifts her head up vertically
whle on her elbows, to see all the cool
house stuff from a new angle) she flips,
until she’s too tired, then just moans.
Sang at an outdoor mass at the seminary in Guildford for Engagement Encounter's 25th anniversary - she was very good. |
|
After driving for 13.5 hours, arrived at Tanya & Jason's for the 'night' at 4am. Slept all day while Tanya babysat, and left for Swan Hill to surprise Amanda's parents at about 8pm. |
|
23 |
Took
Julia to mum's so she could babysit while
I did tax while Mark was at basketball
|
|
Due
to arrive at Swan Hill, Northern Victoria
- virtually on the border of NSW - where
Amanda grew up. |

Great Grandpa Jim's Birthday |
|
24 |
Went
and made dinner at mum and dad's so mum
could do her tax.
Mark
and Bill took the engine off the trolley
dad made for mum when she twisted her
ancle, dad then started using that to
wheel himself around the house. |
|

Grandpa PG's leg is so swollen bruised and
sore, he can no longer use crutches, he
slides across the floor to the loo. |
|
25 |
Finally got an ultrasound appointment at Joondalup hospital. The specialist has never seen anyone's leg get as sore as dad's and as bruised or swollen. He feared clots which could dislodge and go to the heart.
Dad
is VERY sore and after crutching in, needed
a wheel chair to get out, and bum crawled
everywhere at home. |
|
After
getting their sheel bearings fixed, they
leave for Perth |
|
26 |
Spent the day cleaning the house for the LAN and packing for the holiday. |
|
Get stuck at the Nullarbor Roadhouse for a few hours as neither they nor the roadhouse have fuel.
Do the Nullarbor crossing overnight, driving over so many dead kangaroos and splitting the guts of one wit the towbar, spraying it all over the front of the trailor. |
|
27 |
Granny Darrell, Grandpa PG, Aunty Teresa-Lyn, Julia and myself are off to Pemberton until Saturday.
We broke down in Mandurah as one of the two bolts holding the brakes, on each side had fallen off and the others were very loose. Spent 2 hours finding replacements.
Dad's leg was VERY sore, and after an 8 1/2 hour trip we arrived in Pemberton at 9pm.
Bill stays with Mark and kills 3 Redbacks at our house in the first 30 minutes of being there. |
|
|
|
28 |
Mark, Bill and friends are having a week long LAN/sleep over at our house while I'm away.
We spent most of the day in the house in front of a wood fire. WE all (apart from dad) go for a lovely walk around the Avocado-pear and kiwi fruit farm we're staying on. |
|
Flat trailer tyre 100km down a 200km dirt road short cut from Norseman.
Breakdown still on the dirt track, as the springs on one side of the trailer break. Bush mechanics fixing it with a roadside pole. Stop in the next little town - Nudeman or something, to have it all welded up.
After driving 3500km from Swan Hill with only a few hours stopping for sleep, they arrive exactly 1 hour after us, at 11pm. |
|
29 |
We lounge around the house again - mum spends most of the weekend taking each baby in turn for a walk.
Amanda and I confuse everyone by crossdressing the babies. |
|
Tj is extremely good natured, full of smiles and energy, kicking wildly all the time and stretching his LONG arms.
TJ rolls from tummy to back for the first time, when Tim gives him a massage. |

Melanie and Brendan McEntyre give birth to Jade Elizabeth McEntyre by C-section, 3 weeks early at 3.33pm weighing 7.4pounds. She's tiny, with a full head of dark black hair. She was breech and sideways with her legs straight up towards her nose and will wear splints from 1 week old for about 6 weeks. Great Granny Tass' and Great Grandpa Big Bob's 5th grandchild. Cass & John Gartner's first grandchild. |
|
30 |
We all make our way home - a 7 hour trip. |
|
|
|
31 |
Julia slept between 8 and 9 hours - I forgot the time she went to bed - 8pm (then woke a little till sometime before 9pm) to 5am
I stay home to unpack, clean and do washing. |
