Julia's current morning routine: She has a sleep every day without her nappy on, she lies on a thin wrap, but underneath that is a plastic sheet. I start her on one edge after our shower and give her a massage (which ends on her tummy). She then does wee number one on her tummy - for some reason being on her tummy forces it out. After she gets sick of her tummy I then roll her onto her back (as by this time she is too tired and mad to roll herself) and she plays for 1/2 hour or so and does wee no. two. She then moans and grissles for a bit before falling asleep and doing number 3 during her sleep. I just move her more and more over as she keeps doing the wees, and then put the plastic sheet and wrap in the wash and get the second one out which goes on the bed for her daytime and night time sleeps (as she tends to wee up her side when she sleep son her side even in a nappy), and then is used to get soaking wet in the next day's routine. The weather is nice and getting pretty warm now.

Julia weighs 7.6kg (though I think this was including her clothes).
She is about 64cm long.
spacer.gif
TJ weighs 7.5kg with clothes on.
He is about 65cm tall.
TJ still has the biggest and most bald head.

First time I noticed her doing mini-pushups - lying on her somach while Mark is massaging - she'd rise up on her arms, rather than resting on her elbows as she usually does.
She's been grumpy, wingy, dribbling lots, and after a few days of hardly any sleep, has slept for over 3 hours with me over lunch, both days - teething?

Julia’s squealing a heap now, when she’s happy & annoyed.
She keeps lifting her legs up and grabbing her thighs, but not her toes (she can’t see them past those MASSIVE thighs).
She’s also hugging stuff. For the past week or so when I pick her up, she’s put her arms around my neck to ‘hug’ me or hang on. Yesterday we gave her the teddy she’d been l;ooking at, and she put her arms around it to hug it tight. After Mark left for work this morning she wouldn’t stop staring at the big fluffy reindeer he had got at work for Christmas from his secret santa, which he had left on her change table which is next to the bed, and which she gazes at from the bed (for about 15 minutes – so much for getting her back to sleep!)
She can also push up onto both hands now, when on her tummy.

Grips her toes now with her hands, for long periods of time. Prior to this for the last few days she would swat at them and maybe get one for a few seconds.

Currently Julia is full of giggles, ‘talking’ with a lot of Afrikaans sounds, grabbing things and eating them, and rolling over from back to side really fast to get that boob in her mouth at night (and often ending up on her tummy when she’s misjudged the distance) and from tummy to back to get out of that back massage (though she likes it once we actually get going).
Julia can only reach her ankles so far, as her thighs are too fat and get in the way.
She’s in our bed at night, which makes the night feeds very easy. So even though she’s waking about 3 times per night still, each time is about a 5 minute wake for me. She’s so cute to snuggle up next to, and full of energy and giggles in the morning (so that even Mark doesn’t mind waking up to watch her – even when he’s tired).
We love her to bits, and being a mum and housewife is the best job ever!

They have managed to deck their house out with free furniture after just 2 weeks of scouring through the free sections in our 'Quokka' paper. They've even got enough now to donate to mum & dad and us - way to go!
TJ’s just started rolling from back to front while he’s playing, to get at toys. He’s extremely fast and energetic. He’s also learnt how to grab both sets of toes, though sometimes gets stuck in that position.

Gets one foot in each hand and then lies there stuck and fighting with herself.

Immunisations - 2 injections, one in each leg - as opposed to an oral vaccine, and an injection in both legs and one arm. They have done away with the live oral polio vaccine and combined it with another injection.
We gave them panadol in preparation and were told off by the nurse, as they only react about 4-5 hours later, and WE DON'T GIVE DRUGS IN CASE a reaction occurs. Julia was brilliant this time and didn't seem to react at all.
spacer.gif
TJ was a bit of a pain in the evening and was dosed with panadol. He was good for the last vaccines, whereas Julia was a pain. Different babies react to different ones, though the 4 month injections are supposed to be the worst. They sting!
I held both babies, TJ screamed a heap louder than Julia. we shut them up with a boob again. Poor babies.

Makes screechy noises for fun, except they freak me out as they sound like she's drowning or gasping for air - naughty girl.

Julia's talking has now proceeded to long fake coughing fits, she's not even doing her aggeeee's any more. The past week or so she's been trying to climb up her toy stands sideways, wrapping her arms and legs around the horizontal poles about 15cm from the floor.

Julia slept much of the day away. We have her a little puried banana at dinner. She wasn't too impressed, gave us disgusted looks and shook her head a few times like we would with something really strong or sour. She had admittedly just woken up but was extremely sad & grumpy.

Julia slept most of the day. I now think she may be a little sick, she's been a little grumpy, and purhaps the first few coughs were real, and so she learnt how to do them.

Expressed milk for 2 bottles (after figuring out how to sterilise the bottles) - which took a while (20 minutes or so), for Mark to feed Julia, so she had a few practises of the bottle before mum and dad babysit her tomorrow evening while I attend Jodanne's Hen's night, as Mark is spending the day and night with Andrew for his Bucks night. She pulled faces, and had a bit, then pulled let a while later and had a bit more. I had to look on the internet as it really didn't seem like much. She drank 100ml in total, and then I fed her.
