Today expressing was SLOW - 40 minutes and having to nick a bit from the second boob, just to make the 100 mls I desired.
She rolls onto her tummy from her back, given about 20 seconds from putting her down. She then mostly gets stuck there and after a few minutes of playing, whinges as she pushes her toys away and can't get to them or roll over. She'll sometimes roll over from tummy to back if she's not too tired.
Mum & dad babysat her tonight, she was so good. She got biffed by TJ and cried for a bit, but went on a cool walk and calmed down as there were trees!!!! Woohoo.
Drank expressed milk for the second time and guzzled 100ml in one bottle I'd left. Later on had a bit more out of another bottle.

Won't be put down, but we do have a house full of strange girls. I'm madly altering bridesmaid's dresses, and so Mark resorts to carrying her in the sling all afternoon.

She's rolling both ways happily now, but doesn't like spending without me at least around.
Moves all over the place, but by mistake, still can't actually get to anywhere in particular. Just finds interesting things to touch and taste by having rolled into them by mistake.
She is now a HEAT seaking missile. I will lie down in bed, and regardless of how far away she is, she will come rolling over untill she's squished into me, and will then go to sleep.
The last few days, the only way she will go to sleep is if I sit next to her so she can roll into my leg, wrap one leg over mine, stuff her face up to my thigh, with her thumb in her mouth, and stoke my leg with her other hand.
This evening, we kept putting her down and after a while of silent playing in the dark she'd begin to cry (as she often has before, which has often turned to sleep if left for 5 minutes of so) but these times it grows to a distressed cry quickly. Twice we went in the find her on her tummy, stuck, in the dark on another part of the bed. Getting dangerous now! Mark went in to lie with her to put her to sleep and she just screamed louder, until I went. I lay on the other side of the bed and she shut up immediately, rolled over to stuff her face into me, (all done with her eyes tighly shut) and proceeded to suck her thumb to sleep. Poor Mark.
Now when I place her on the mat near the shower, prior to her shower (while I quickly wash myself) she's no longer there, she's somewhere else (usually in the middle of the bathroom) on her tummy, and cause it's cold tiles has usually weed.
Bum free time is now short and very monitored, as if I walk into another room to get something she's rolled off the plastic onto the floor and done her wee's there (as lying on her tummy usually forces everything there is to come out, to come out of all cavaties).

Spent time rolling back and front pretty efficiently on the computer room floor inspecting a monitor and filing cabinet, plastic bag with her feet, and Mark's South African Flag caps, along with some of her own toys, and a touchy feely mat from aunty Michelle.

Andrew & Jodanne's rehearsal dinner, a large BBQ at their venue, in upper 30 degrees and HUMID. It was HOT.

Paul & Colleen come for lunch. Colleen brought Julia's baptism cake.
Julia becomes a Catholic. Today was her baptism. I was up till 4am sewing her dress and then finished it later on in the morning. The weather was high 30's and humid - the church has no windows. She spent her time giggling and chatting during the homily. After dressing her in her dress, and tying the long lace skirt (from my wedding dress) around her waist for the actual baptism which was during 6.30pm Mass, we stripped her off to complete mass in her nappy.
She was very interested in the small fountain in the font (thank goodness it was there as she was becoming a handfull). The priest poured one cup full into her eyes, and as she was lying down she couldn't get rid of it, so ended up with very red eye. She was so good and didn't cry.
He then held her up for the church to see, while they all clapped. I'd expected her to cry as she doensn't enjoy clapping, but family told me she was very alert and looking all around rather surprisedly.
We had a multitude of family and friends attend, and then a party at our house afterwards, which went really well. We'd virtually stripped the main area of the house of furniture, and half the people spilled out into the garden anyway.

Andrews wedding. The boys stayed at our house and got ready from there. I stayed at mum's, as the ceremony was near them.
Their wedding and reception was lovely. Mark & co. looked dashing. Jodanne beautiful.
Julia was pretty good. Slept through most of the reception and dancing. Mark and I did some of our latin dancing while Julia slept in the sling on my stomach - clever baby!
She awoke in time for the speeches, and when Mark did his, spent her time giggling and talking and getting really excited, waving her arms and legs around. She wouldn't have been able to see him as he was pretty far away - she must have just responded to his voice.

TJ is 5 months.

9spacer.gif

Julia is 5 months.
Slept for about 4.5 hours (we slept with her for about 3.5 of them - Mark bunked work) to recover from the weekend - and then another 1 or so in the afternoon.
spacer.gif
TJ
can sit in the bath or on the floor for about 30 - 60 seconds on his own when Amanda lets go. He leans forward and places his hands on the floor by his knees to steady himself.
Dad got TJ to put his hands on his plastic mobile/toy stand, and hold himself there, while he was standing.

10spacer.gif

Julia is getting steadier, sittling while holding our finger with one hand. She's only been flipping onto her tummy to play, for about 2 weeks now. Julia is a lot slower and more delicate!
:)
Julia weighed 7.94kgs today (TJ is winning once again, though only by 16 gms), and 66.2cm tall with head circumference 42.5cm.
The sleeping thing with Julia has been worrying me. At the moment I seem to have to lie down with her, unless she is very tired. Then she whinges and flips to her tummy to go to sleep (very cute).
I have moved her cot into our room to begin putting her there for daytime naps as I'm scared she'll roll ( and later crawl) off the bed with me not there). At the moment the cot is packed high with junk as I got the carpets cleaned today in preparation for her crawling (she likes to roll off her mat to eat the fluff off the floor currently - I'm consequently trying to decide how to continue her 'free-bum time').
Julia gets a bank account.

TJ
has been on his tummy for about 5 weeks
and gets onto his hands and knees, or
hands and toes (with nothing else on the
ground), so we feel will be moving soon.
TJ weighs 8kg exactly, is 69cm tall and has head circumference of 45cm.
TJ joins the library and gets a free book.
TJ gets a bank account.

11spacer.gif

Julia slept for about 3 (or more - I can't remember) hours with me this morning, and then from 3 - 5pm this afternoon. Her longest sleep in the daytime without me that I can remember.
She was pulling her knees up under her while on her tummy today.
She was also squealing loudly and very high pitchedly (spell) while playing, like she's really annoyed with her toys misbehaving.
She loves being carried around to check things out.
spacer.gif

12spacer.gif

Woohoo we have bought a 'latex' or something or other King Sized mattress to replace our Queen spring mattress on a double bed base. I can hardly feel Mark bumbling around on it. We will try it on the floor for a whle so Julia has less of a distance to fall.

TJ's first tooth, his lower right front tooth.

14spacer.gif

Julia is poking her tongue out a heap now, and then blowing making 'farting' noises and blowing raspberries - it's highly amusing.
Julia fell out of bed just after I'd lain her down. I was about to feed her, but hopped up to help Mark with a fan, didn't watch her, and she rolled over and off the bed, hitting her head on the edge of the bedside table, and then landing wihe her back half on pillows, which caused her top half to come crashing down on carpet with horrible concrete underneath. She SCREAMED and wouldn't even feed, just lay there whith her mouth open, and eyes tightly shut. I felt SOOO bad - I love her so much - I slept the night with her on a mattress instead.
spacer.gif
Amanda's 27th birthday dinner at mum's.

15spacer.gif

Julia fell off the mattress this afternoon after I'd changed her nappy and ended up screaming face down wedged between the mattress & Teresa's bed.
Julia can follow my finger now, and look at what I'm pointing to, as long as I'm touching or very near what I'm pointing to eg. In a book or mum showing her leaves & flowers.
spacer.gif
TJ fell out of bed (with Amanda) while she was sleeping, and they awoke to his screams and Amanda to an empty bed at about 5.30am.
Amanda's birthday - Tim took her out for breakfast while mum & dad babysat. Tj's second tooth, lower left front.

16spacer.gif

Julia sat up for a fair while wihtout being held, by leaning forward and putting her hands on the floor near her feet, to steady herself. This is how TJ has been 'sitting' for the past week.
Julia spent mos of the day trying to touch and eat the material, and blowing raspberries, and so showering anything withing a metre radius of the front of me, with spit.
spacer.gif
Material shopping ALL DAY - poor babies. TJ spent some time close to Amanda in Julia's sling.

Julia and TJ play with 8month old crawling and much lighter Will and unfortunately catch the sickness he just got over.

21spacer.gif

We leave Julia with Mark's parents for 15 minutes while we nip off to a garage sale and she ends up screaming unconsolably. It took me a long time to calm her down - probably about 20 minutes. She'd only seen them about three times briefly since she was 2 1/2 months old though, so they must pretty much be strangers to her. Poor grandparents and Julia combined. My heart ached to see her so upset and insecure.

(23 weeks and 6 days) Julia got her first tooth, lower left front and did 6 poos!

TJ went to hospital during the night as he hadn't slept all day yesterday and was still up by midnight, puking a bit and with a temperature. He has a viral infection and has to 'wait I out'

25spacer.gif

Julia woke up with a temperature a few times in the night, crying and puked once. She was sick and boiling all day and the next night. I babysat her and TJ while Amanda went to the dentist and both cried almost continually. After carrying both around the house at the same time for ages, I put Julia in the sling and TJ in his pram and marched off down to the dentists. By the time I got there they were both asleep and looking like angels. Poor babies.

26spacer.gif

Australia day at Tim & Amanda's. Mum, Dad, Bill & Carly came down. Julia was tired and grumpy, but managed to watch them through half closed eyes. She fell asleep in during the minute following their finale.
spacer.gif
TJ was much better.
TJ is 'crawling' commando style, on his stomach.

By Saturday, after a few more pukes Julia was much better and sleeping well during the day.

Julia has caught mum's cold and is coughing horribly, but luckily misses out on most of the runny nose
Lovely soiree at Uncle Pete and Aunty Ronnie's house - weather was icy though.
